Green slam
This month’s poetry slam is a special celebration of all things green and spring-y!
The evening will feature special guest plant poet, Berkley Walker, from the US, and music from the ever delightful Rex and Helen!
Green Slam
28 August 2009 7:30-11:30pm
The Front Café and Gallery
Wattle St, Lyneham
Plus, check out today’s issue of The Canberra Times for a very nice article on the slams!
I enjoyed the August Slam, though it seemed to me the crowd was smaller. The lack of seating was a problem – I can’t stand for more than about 30 minites, As for sitting on the floor, I can’t do that – I’d never get up again! The band was good – better than some we’ve had. A couple of people took up my book offer, and I collected more than the cost of printing in donations. There really are some people who like my poems! Your guest poet was very good, and I’d like to hear or read more of his work. I’ll be there again on September 25! I also do a bit to encourage people to come.
Glad you had a good time. Not sure what we can do about the seat issue – might have to find a larger venue!
Do you have a link to the Canberra Times article? I hardly ever read it, so i missed the story.
Sorry – looks like it didn’t make it online.
Julian, I have forwarded a copy of that Can. Times article to you. Cheers. Malcolm
